A Profile of Dermatologist Dr. Tasso Pappas, MD

March 13, 2018
All in all, Dr. Tasso Pappas has performed thousands of MOHS surgeries, in part because they are considered the most effective treatments for many basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs), which are the two most common skin cancer types. He also routinely performs reconstructive surgeries for skin cancer. Besides treating those patients who are in need of such surgery as a normal course of treatment, many of these surgeries show that Dr. Tasso Pappas is committed to serving his community.

He does this in other ways, too. For the last nine years, Dr. Tasso Pappas has volunteered to participate in providing annual melanoma screenings in the Twin Cities region, and he has also volunteered to provide tattoo removal services for now-former gang members. Lately, dermatologist Dr. Pappas has been practicing out of Skin Care Doctors, a clinic in Burnsville, Minnesota. He has been there since December of 2015. Altogether, though, he has been practicing for more than two decades. He has been a doctor since obtaining his medical degree from the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota.

Prior to that, Tasso Pappas graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Since then, his education has grown, starting with an internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and including and including comprehensive dermatology training, which he received from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. That was completed back in 1998. Dr. Tasso Pappas is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and he has been a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology for years. That indicates a lot of skills, knowledge and experience.
